About
FRN is a national student-led movement aimed to fight food waste and feed people. FRN started at University of Maryland in College Park and has expanded all over the country, including at Goucher. We recover any leftover food from school dinning halls to donate to a local transitional homeless shelter in the area. We sponsor food waste events on campus and throughout the community. Events we put on allow students to become more aware about their impact with food waste and the food they consume on campus. We also create events at our partner agency Project PLASE (where we deliver the recovered food) to support the agency and find ways to better understand the impact we are making. At Goucher FRN, we are one college/university of many across the country trying to make a difference.
